Dear IMLA member,
I am delighted to be in touch with you in advance of the first face-to-face International Maritime Lecturers Association (IMLA) conference (6-9 September 2023) to be held since 2019! On behalf of the IMLA committee, I hope that we will soon be meeting with you in person at IMLA28 and IMEC33 to be held at Nicola Vaptsarov Naval Academy in Varna, Bulgaria, in conjunction with Odessa Maritime Academy, Odessa, Ukraine.
IMLA continues to pursue its goals to promote and nurture the interests of maritime lecturers worldwide by facilitating a forum where members can share knowledge and experience, by offering high-level training for instructors and, last but not least, by representing members at International Maritime Organization (IMO). However, it is only through its members and their input that IMLA will continue to thrive and grow.
To this end, I hereby extend an invitation to you to attend the IMLA General Meeting which will be held in Varna during IMLA28, specifically on Friday 8 September from 13.30 to 14.45. This will provide an opportunity for you to learn more about recent IMLA activities and plans for the future and, where appropriate, to exchange views with the committee and other attendees. We hope we can count on your support.
On behalf of the IMLA committee, I wish you safe travels to Varna and look forward to seeing you at the IMLA General Meeting.
Kind regards,
Dr. Alison Noble
Chair, International Maritime Lecturers Association (IMLA)
