The 41st GESAMP Session will be hold in Sweden

The 41st session of GESAMP (the Joint Group of Experts on the Scientific Aspects of Marine Environmental Protection) by World Maritime University, from 1 to 4 September in Malmö. GESAMP is a UN inter-agency advisory mechanism, and consists of world-leading experts providing independent advice on current and emerging issues in relation to the marine environment. The Group was founded in 1969, and is currently sponsored by nine UN organizations – IMO, IAEA, FAO, UNDP, UNESCO-IOC, UNEP, UNIDO, WMO and the UN.

The session is closed and by invitation only. However, an open seminar will be held in the afternoon of Wednesday 3 September, on the topic of “Maritime activities and noise: Sources and Impacts”. More information and a detailed programme will be available closer to the event.
