This past weekend the 2012 MMA Regimental Drill Team competed in the 34th Annual Cornell University Drill and Military Excellence Competition. Captained by cadet second class Michael Romano of Kingsville, MD, the competition five events: squad basic, color guard, platoon trick, 10K cross country race and a 4 x 400 meters relay.

The team was victorious with two placements. A fourth place finish by cadet third class William “Tyler” Brady of Woburn, MA. Cadet Brady competed in the 10K (6.2 mi) cross country race with six laps around scenic Beebe Lake posting a time of 37 minutes, 31 seconds. Commanded by third class cadet Andrew Guinan of York, PA, the color guard visited the winners’ circle with a third place finish.

Scoring points in seven categories including precision, difficulty, appearance, and originality the platoon competed in the “trick” exhibition. A first in recent history for MMA, the team placed well while competing against over eleven other colleges.
