The forum served in general to acknowledge IMO’s indispensable roles played in the 70-year journey for the industry and its vision on safe, secure and efficient shipping on clean oceans. Through speeches, dialogues and discussions addressing the topic by representatives from IMO, EU, maritime authorities, shipping industry and maritime institutions, the forum helped to raise the awareness of environmental protection, both marine and atmosphere, from shipping operations, and to echo IMO’s efforts for the industry to eliminate and reduce all adverse environmental impacts from ships. It also provided opportunities for exchanging views on current trends and practices in this respect.
