IMLA Committee Meeting And AGM Called during IMLA26

The IMLA Committee Meeting was called on 21^st October 2018. IMLA Chair Prof. Jin Yongxing chaired the Committee meeting which served as a preliminary meeting of IMLA AGM to be held later during the IMLA26. Secretary Clive W. Cole, and committee members including Quentin Cox, Leon Govender, Michael Amon presented with progress on the work of their respective areas. IMLA Treasurer Stephen Cross was represented by Quentin Cox who provided updates on the financial facts on behalf of the Treasurer. ICERS Chair Takeshi Nakazawa was represented by ICERS Steering Committee members Dandy Galang and Sergey Karianskyi.  IMEC Steering Committee member Alison Noble and IMLA Secretariat Coordinator Yingming Wang attended the Committee Meeting as observers.

On 24^th October 2018, the IMLA Annual General Meeting was convened at the auditorium on the campus of Maritime Academy of Asia and Pacific (MAAP) with attendance of IMLA members and wide maritime lecturers. IMLA Chair Prof. JinYongxing gave a comprehensive report on IMLA’s work over the past two years. The agenda of the AGM also included the work of IMLA Secretariat in Shanghai, Treasurer’s Report including membership categories and payment, reports from the three Special Interest Groups, Constitution Amendments as well as future conference venues. It was announced the Batumi State Maritime Academy (BSMA), Georgia, would be the host for IMLA26 in year 2019. It was also confirmed the World Maritime University (WMU)would organize a major combined conference for IMLA family in 2020. The AGM was chaired by IMLA Secretary Prof. Clive Cole.
