The Third Meeting of IMLA Working Group for Revision of IMO Maritime English Model Course Held in Shanghai Maritime University

The third meeting of IMLA working group for revision of IMO maritime English model course was held in Shanghai Maritime University(SMU) on Oct. 8,2014. Alain Brillault, Vice Chair of IMLA, Clive Cole, Secretary of IMLA Professor, Prof.Dr Boris Pritchard, Faculty of Maritime Studies，University of Rijeka, Catherine Logie, manager of the UK maritime training institution Marlins, Prof. Jin Yongxing, Chairman of IMLA and Vice President of SMU, and other teachers from college of foreign languages and merchant marine college of SMU attended the meeting.

Professor Jin Yongxing made a welcoming speech and appreciated the effort that IMLA working group put into IMO maritime English model course revision work. Clive Cole hosted the meeting.

The meeting began with a report of the revision progress, then, IMLA working group had an in-depth discussion on contents and forms of the draft version No.4 of IMO Maritime English Model Course, in order to achieve success in IMO maritime English model course revision work.

IMO maritime English model course aims to formulate unified syllabus reference standard for all countries to cultivate maritime English talents, it has the role of guiding international maritime English courses.
