WMU 2013 Professional Development Courses

The 2013 Professional Development Course (PDC) schedule is now available. Twelve courses are planned throughout 2013 starting with the Introductory Workshop on the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 that will take place at WMU 20-22 March. A new web page for the executive and professional development courses has been launched at http://wmu.se/professional where more information can be found, including course descriptions. Topics address current needs and projected requirements of the maritime market, particularly in key IMO mandated areas. The open-enrollment courses planned for 2013 include:

·         Container Terminal Performance & Planning with a Simulation Technique

·         IMO Ballast Water Management Convention - Compliance & Enforcement

PDCs in a variety of subjects are offered at WMU in Malmö as well as locations around the world. Ranging from a few days to multiple weeks in length, there are a variety of open-enrollment opportunities as well as the option to request customized executive courses to meet the needs of a particular organization. Taught by WMU faculty and highly qualified consultants, PDCs offer an opportunity for professionals to update their knowledge and skills through a blend of academic expertise and hands-on experience. The multi-cultural draw of WMU typically results in a diverse mix of individuals that enrich the course experience.
