SUNY Maritime’s 14th Annual Towing Forum
SUNY Maritime College’s 14th annual Towing Forum took place on the Maritime campus on October 16, 2013. “The Maritime College’s Towing Forum has become one of the most important events in the towing business,” said Maritime professor, Captain Eric Johansson, of the Professional Education and Training Department.

SUNY Maritime College President, Rear Admiral Wendi Carpenter, USN (Ret.) welcomed guests and speakers who discussed key issues affecting the towing industry. Industry speakers who addressed the group of students, faculty, towing industry executives as well as Maritime staff included:
Aaron Tasin of WARTSILA who spoke about Meeting Scheduled Emission Requirements
Captain S. Huttman, G & H Towing who discussed – TSAC Tasking
Captain M. Vitt, E.N. Bisso, who spoke about Manning Narrow Channels
Mike Snyder of the New York Department of State spoke about Marine Spatial Planning
Captain J. Flumignan spoke on Marine Highway Program and Towing
